Become a champion for bees and support local beekeeping efforts with Millheim Honey Company’s Adopt a Hive Program!

For $75 per year, you can sponsor or “adopt” a Millheim Honey Company beehive in your name and help support the ongoing care and management of a thriving honey bee colony.

Your annual adoption directly contributes to the expenses involved in maintaining healthy colonies, including routine hive inspections, feeding when necessary, pest and disease management, equipment upkeep, and other seasonal care. In return, you’ll get to follow along with your adopted hive throughout your year of sponsorship and see firsthand what goes into caring for honey bees.

What’s Included With Your Annual Adoption

• Personalized Adoption Certificate – Receive a certificate recognizing you, your family, or your business as an official Adopt a Hive supporter.
• Updates From Your Hive – Receive periodic updates throughout your adoption year about your hive, including colony progress, bee activity, seasonal changes, honey production, and other happenings in the apiary.
• Behind-the-Scenes Beekeeping Updates – Learn more about how your colony is managed throughout the seasons and what Millheim Honey Company is doing to keep the bees healthy and productive.
• Website Recognition – Your name, family name, or business can be recognized on the Millheim Honey Company website as a supporter of the Adopt a Hive Program.
• Honey From Your Adopted Hive – When your adopted colony produces a harvestable honey crop, you’ll receive a jar of honey from the hive you helped support.

Annual Adoption — $75/Year

Each adoption lasts for one year from the date of adoption.

At the end of your adoption year, you’ll have the opportunity to renew your hive adoption for another year and continue supporting your colony.

Your adoption does not transfer ownership of the hive, bees, equipment, or honey crop. All colonies remain owned and professionally managed by Millheim Honey Company. Because honey production depends on weather, forage availability, colony health, and other natural conditions, honey production cannot be guaranteed each season. If circumstances require a colony to be relocated, combined, requeened, or otherwise changed for the health of the bees, your annual adoption will continue with a colony managed by Millheim Honey Company.

An annual hive adoption also makes a unique gift for birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries, businesses, classrooms, families, or anyone who loves bees and the outdoors. The adoption can be placed in the recipient’s name, and they’ll get to follow their hive throughout the year.
